HISTORICAL
The "Entrance of the Holy Mother of God into the Church" parish in Northampton, located in the East Midlands region (Midlands Protopochy), was established in the fall of 2007, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph.
Since its beginnings, the parish has gathered a community of Orthodox Romanians around the Holy Liturgy, keeping the faith and connection with the traditions of the country alive...

THE ENTRANCE OF THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD INTO THE CHURCH
The Entry of the Virgin Mary into the Church is celebrated on November 21. This holiday is popularly known as Vovidenia or Ovedenia.
The parents of the Mother of God are Saints Joachim and Anna. Childless, but with faith in God, they asked God to grant them the honor of being parents, promising that if they had a child, they would take it to the temple and worship it to Him. An angel announced to them that they would have a daughter whom they would name Mary. Saints Joachim and Anna did not forget the promise made to God and three years after the birth of the Mother of God they took their daughter to the temple ...
